GCCDC is a nonprofit organization incorporated under the State of Georgia. Our mission is “to produce, manage and showcase authentic, traditional Caribbean Carnival - our unique form of street theatre - as a means of preserving this legacy for all Caribbean peoples in the state of Georgia while promoting and educating the community about the culture and heritage of the Caribbean Region’. Our organization’s main source of financing is through contributions and donations from individuals and businesses like yours as well as from our fund raising activities.
We are asking for your support with the following: (a) Prize moneys to facilitate our competitions: School Carnival-themed Band- for participating schools; (b) Prize moneys to facilitate the appearances for all bands and for the parade of bands and Individual Costumes competition; (c) facilitating the air fare and accommodations of noted cultural Entertainers from North America and the Caribbean. Sponsors at the Georgia Carnival 2008 in DeKalb County can position themselves to benefit from the influx of visitors at the Caribbean Carnival. In addition to the tangible benefits outlined in the attached, sponsors can expect: Greater exposure to Caribbean communities that are a growing economic force with an opportunity to advance your corporate mission, goals and objectives. Heightened awareness and visibility of your company in the Caribbean communities, as well as an increase in customer usage of your products/services through advertising and promotion. To be viewed as a partner with the Caribbean communities by supporting and promoting a major Caribbean cultural art form, Carnival. An information booth at the Diaspora Market Place and an ad in the Carnival Commemorative Magazine GCCDC Carnival 2008 will encourage and invite visitors from surrounding communities and around the world. Georgia, particularly DeKalb County is home to the largest population of Caribbean people, over 400,000, and growing. Businesses, therefore, can expect to benefit on an economic level estimated in the millions of dollars. We welcome your support and participation in Georgia Caribbean Carnival 2008.
